Intresting what is the idea behind the tinfoil and Dettol?

It's not tin foil its just the rag that I laid the A4 on. If you need to strip any paint from a model, use 50-50 dettol and water, submerge your model overnight and all the paint, be it acrylic or enamel, will peel off. The plastic stays unharmed. Just wash with warm water and Fairy liquid.

The dettol takes everything off. See the picture of all the A4 parts cleaned and on the cutting board

Very nice result. I always use a Sodium hydroxide solution to the same effect, but I'll try your system next time. Thanks.

I had dramas spraying gloss varnish and ruined another old classic, the Airfix Boeing Clipper. I've just re sprayed that with Mr Surfacer 1200. Should be sorted in a couple of weeks, IF I can master spraying gloss varnish
