I've been making models since I was but a wee lad. I enjoy a range of subjects but have a defined interest in the one-offs, the oddballs, the prototypes, the "could've beens" and the "what ifs."
So, the whole Luft 46 genre fits there as does the France 41! subjects. So too do all those wonderful prototypes and proposals of the RAF and the USAAC / USAAF. Hikoki '46 is in there too.
I'm also interested armor subjects that are of a unique nature as well. So, the E-100 to the Conqueror to the m103 are all of interest to me.
On the modelling front, I'm a devotee of the One True Scale. So, if it flies or rolls or even if it floats, it's gotta be 1/72nd in scale. For science fiction subjects, given how large "starships" are, I've opted for either 1/500th (think, the SSC Leif Ericson) or 1/1000 in scale. For particularly unique subjects I'll go with the "box scale" they came in due to their original nature. Items such as the XSL-01 or the Aurora Impetus fall into that line.
I'm also a fan of "What If?" modeling in general. So, anything from the simple "Whif" of changing a plane's paintjob - imagine a Zero in US Navy "yellow wings" livery or a F-86 in 17th Pursuit Squadron livery - to even more detailed and original imaginings are just grist for my mill.
