Finished! Hobbyboss' 1/72 "Krasnaya Zvezda" armoured train.

This is a Soviet armoured train of the second world war, fitted with the turret from a KV-1 heavy tank, giving it an armament of a 76mm ZiS-5 main gun, as well as additional machine guns. Armoured trains were widely used on the Eastern Front, particularly by the Soviets, and tended to reuse existing components such as tank turrets, for ease of manufacture.

This kit was just lovely to make, came together very quickly, with no fit problems at all.

I painted it almost entirely using Vallejo air paints from my airbrush, except the sleepers of the track, which were hand painted using humbrol enamel paints. 🙂

I am honestly amazed how quickly I managed to make this, but it gives me a good feeling, as it reassured me that I could still do this after a recent modelling mishap.

All in all, i'm very happy with how this turned out considering it was my first time ever making a train and painting terrain, and the only thing I would change in future would be to add clear coats before and after the decals. I was not able to do it this time sadly as I have nothing to use as a flat/matt clear coat.
