Riguardo a me

I like to build models of anything that gets my interest. I have been building for over 40 years now, something my mum started me off on one summer holiday with an Airfix Stegosaurus. I then discovered our local grocer sold Matchbox kits and so I used my pocket money to start my hobby. I was spoilt for choice in the town I grew up in as we had 2 incredible model shops (one of which is still going thankfully) and there was a toy shop with a reasonable selection of mainstream kits and of course Woolworths before it's demise often had a few bargains to be found (I picked up a 1/24 Airfix Ju-87 out of there for about 25% of its rrp).
Nowadays I build 1/72 jets primarily for my 2 boys bedroom ceiling as they have grown up since birth with planes on the ceiling at their mums (my 1/48 WW2 collection).
I'm very proud to say that over the course of the last year my oldest son has started building his own models. He has built 3 so far with less help from me on each one and for his 7th birthday we went to our local model shop and got him 3 more to start his very own stash.
I have a small stash for my own interests that mainly consists of F1 cars of Michael Schumacher, 1/32 WW2 german aircraft and 1/35 german armour. Like many on here I imagine, I have many projects and ideas for things but either lack the money, confidence or time to see many of them through to fruition but if I do get anything off the ground then you can be sure to see it in the news feed 🙂
