HN-466 underwent MLU2 (midlife update2) which included air-to-ground capability with JDAM, JSOW and JASSM. The type designation was changed from F-18 D to F/A-18 D. The role of the aircraft changed from interceptor to multi-role combat aircraft (Partonen, Kyösti (2018): Finnish Jet colours). Probably in 2030 the hornets will be replaced by F-35.
