Even though the box says 1/48, according to Round 2 that is a printing error. The kit really is a re-release of the Esci/ERTL 1/72 kit. Later boxes had the correct scale printed on them. (per Round 2 themselves)

Round 2 is a "re-pop company", their specialty is releasing kits from the past and bringing them back to the market. For reviews of their kits, a person looks at the lineage here on Scalemates, and looks at reviews on the net for kits released by others in the past. This AMT kit is the same as the Esci, Esci/ERTL, and AMT/ERTL kits,,,,,,,,,so if you like those, this should fit the bill for you. Just make sure to notice that the other AMT kit is the Matchbox mold. You'll see this on the kit timeline, so you can keep them separate.
Figuring out which tooling is in which box # is one of the biggest strong points of Scalemates. If you don't find Esci reviews of this kit that fit your needs, let me know and I'll go through my Esci Tomcats and describe it,,,,,,,,,after I get back from New York on Wednesday. (Stepson's College graduation,,,,,,,only 1700 miles of driving in the next 6 days, lol)

Very good information thank you really!
I just wish they re-release the AMT/ERTL BMP-1 AFV at cheap price, I bought every kit I managed to find (check my stash).
And congratulations for stepson's graduation : ) Wish you safe trip
