One of my first projects getting back into modeling after a long hiatus was to work on this with my great nephew (2 years old). I handled all the tiny parts and delicate operations, and had him help me with larger pieces. The general design of the kit is very family friendly, no glue or paint necessary. My great nephew was enthralled with it, though he lost patience when I took time trying to get the small pieces done.
Some of the really tiny bits like the many deck Dorade boxes were really hard to handle due to their size. I don't know if there's an easier way to handle these. I lost one or two of them on the floor and broke another couple while installing them. I also accidentally cut one of the pegs for the screws on the bottom of the ship due to not recognizing it was a part of the part and not part of the sprue.
The kit does feature pretty good detail for a kit that appears to be geared to introductory audiences and going with the stock (colored) parts and not painting, you get a relatively quick build that looks good. I believe there are aftermarket parts for experts that really want to kick up the kit to the next level.
The lighting kit is a big cherry on top. Overall, a decent kit, except for the challenges with the really bitty parts. A little pricey but it's won me over and who can put a price on this; during the build my great nephew whispered, "you're my best friend."

Sometimes it's easier to place small parts with Blu Tac rolled to a point rather than tweezers and put the glue on the location not the part itself.

Thanks for the tip. Every day I learn something new about how the hobby had changed since I last built anything.
