Jos Jansen AuthorThe start of the cockpit has been painted in Gunze RLM66 Dark Gray, and the first dry-brush tire black has been done. The next step is to place the photo etch, then dry brush again with aluminum. Quick boost has some nice detailed exhausts in resin, great!

Jos Jansen AuthorPit is almost ready, I added some Gun Metal pigment...looks nice and worn. Now everything is sprayed in Gunze clear, this upcoming days some washes. It's fun to build a WWII plane...😁!

@Alberto...many thx, you'll get the best results with a 0.2 mm nozzle and between 15-20 psi for Gunze and I thin Gunze paints with 50/50 ratio Mr. Color Leveling Thinner...that's my experiences and my way to do this to get these results.

I closed everything with a Gunze clear coat...next step, some slightly sanding and then the decals...

Jos Jansen AuthorUnfortunately, something went terribly wrong with sealing the decals. 😡 The Stuka took a dive towards the waste bin, I was completely done with it. I'm going to close this project, which is a shame because I was almost done! Stay tuned as I continue with my Super Hornet which is also almost ready.

Spanjaardif not yet in the bind, you can give it a layer of one of those white washable paints, winter temporary camo. if does look good, great, if not, nothing to lose if you are going to bin it anyway.

Ben MThe issue is the faint white ? I've owned plenty of cars that oxidized out like that... not uncommon for paint. I don't think it's an issue at all, unless you're set on a factory showroom stuka 🙂

Jos Jansen AuthorThank you for all the support and well-intentioned options to make something of this Stuka 👍🏻. Unfortunately, that won't work anymore, I have already crushed it and thrown it into the garbage bin, I was completely done with it. It was my own mistake in deviating from my beloved Gunze Clear coat. I still had a bottle of Ammo, Gloss Lucky Varnish...what a mess that is 😡! Irreparably messed up, in combination with the fact that I also had the pressure in my compressor wrong and my airbrush gun had problems. Nevertheless, guys, I am already over the first frustrations 😅... the positive thing is that I am now going to finish my Super Hornet, because it will go on the show table of our club during the ESM in Houten, The Netherlands on November 25...👊🏻😎!

Never a ProReally big respect for publishing failures. We all do. It is humbling and teach us more lessons than successes. I still think it was salvageable, but I am stubborn as a mule and don't accept defeat against plastic, but I am not on the right here. Good luck pn the next build.
