Does this Revell/Mongram kit have parts to build the engine and transaxle?
Are these the same molds of the IMC/Testors kits?

Probably a bit late, but it does have parts for engine and trans-axle. Likeliness to the IMC/Testors kit, I'm unsure.

For anyone who is curious, this Revell (Aurora) kit is not the same as the IMC (Testors) kit. I've seen pictures partial of sprues from both kits. The Revell seats are molded together as one piece; the IMC kit they are separate.

Gentlemen
Please let me apologize for not getting back to you.
I had forgotten all together about posting this question.
I do appreciate your time.
I wound up purchasing the Testors kit, which I must
say was pretty rough, for an sealed kit. Almost like it
had been stored outside, in a barn or shed.
The chrome was fading off of parts, didn't look clean.
Looked dusty and one of the ejector stacks was missing.
Tires have flash, really should be replaced. Kinda'
got discouraged with it and shelved it, more of a curiosity
now than a ongoing project. Maybe revisit it when I can
put serious time and love into it.

I have been half-heartedly looking for that Testors kit. I built it when I was a kid, and it was way out my league at the time. I remember the lifting hood and engine cover being really fragile. I would still like to build one of these kits as a Mk1 GT 40, white body - blue hood.

Lads, I can tell you that the Revell 7130 kit is pretty good. It has some PE in it too. I don't usually do racing cars, but I picked it up cheap. Then I painted it, only to discover the history behind it. Now I'm gonna paint it in the correct colour and give it a worthy cause.

From what I can see, Revell used the Fujimi kit, although I've not built it. The instructions are almost identical.

Wiggus I'd have to say I would recommend it. With my above provisos. For the nostalgia, yeah without a doubt.
@Bozzer, thanks, I hadn't heard anything on it or the other kit at all and was at the end of any resource when I posted here.
I've seen the Fujimi kit build up and must say that it very sharp looking. I know there was a transkit for it, rear suspension, transaxle and engine, but the $85.00+ US
kept me from having to sleep in the car.
It is such a popular and important car in racing history, you'd think a decently detailed and non $200+ resin kit would have been put out years ago.
I know the AMT snap-to-gether is out there floating around too, but that is a later design, correct?

Buddy, I don't know how to break this to you, but I found mine on a flea market in Pennsylvania. I paid 6 bucks for it, I think? The guy had a few but sold them. The one I bought, was one he opened, to show his customers. I honestly didn't realise the significance, until I struggled to get information on it. My kit had the P decal on it

Research later revealed, that I have a part of history. After reading a story about it, I found it more compelling, than the actual Le Mans win. It's a truly fantastic story indeed

What part of Pa. Bozzer? I'm from Tunkhannock.
I'd given my arm at $6.00 buddy.
Just found this website recently that has decals for the
GT's.

Rice's Flea Market. It's better on warmer days. I've had some real bargains on there! Picked up a cheap airbrush, with a decent compressor, for 20 bucks. Only used once, for cake decorating! Mrs lives it, with her Neo! Just head for the 202 and New Hope, it's not too far buddy.

Holy smoke Peppy, you don't live too far from my brother in law, in Wellsboro! Some beautiful country, you've got on your front door buddy! I have a soft spot for Allentown. Mainly because of its history, and of course, the Mack museum. And let's not forget that's where the closest Hobby Lobby is! Small world my friend 👍

Have a read of that lads. That's the story that inspired me to stop, and get things right.

I apologize for my tardiness, Bozzer. Yeah Mansfield is probably 90 minutes away and Wellsboro is a bit over the hill by about another 12 miles or so. Have you been to the Grand Canyon outside of Wellsboro. Haven't made it myself, they say it is worth the trip.
How about, IPMS Region 2, I believe this year is tentative in October in Batavia, NY. 1st and 2nd or 11th-12th, can't rightly remember.

Peppy, I currently reside in the UK. I plan on moving out there in the New Year. Well, until this pandemic hit. My plans are still the same, but it will probably be a little bit longer than I expected. I've not had the pleasure of the Grand Canyon yet. I'll speak to my bro and ask him why he's not told me about this place? I try to get around, when I'm over there, but the most I drove, was the 8hrs upto Niagara. That's a long trip, with two women in the car! Lol, I'm a hero though, so I did it.😉
