@Transall NG, my father just got caught up in a wave of "Messerization" in the 1990s. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a flood of articles about the Luftwaffe flooded into Russia, which was like an ideological distraction. Many people dreamed of Messerschmitt and Focke-Wulf aircraft, considering them the best while simultaneously criticizing Soviet aircraft. Perhaps this was successful because in Soviet times, the qualities of German and Allied aircraft were underplayed, and there was little information about them available.
