Maybe interesting to share: I was wondering what my different Light Gull Greys would look like on Mr. Surfacer Mahogany ...

Interesting experiment. The brown seems to make the grey "warmer" than over a straight black base. 👍

Hi John, that's what I was hoping for. I need a cold grey for this bicentennial bird and a warm grey for another VF-21 build. Now I know what paint to choose and what primer to use.

Oh yes, for sure! Especially without any pylons marring the sleek lines and with an immaculate paint job. I'll try my best to do these beautiful lines justice. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Thanks for comparing these different brands of FSx6440 paint Patrick.

One single FS number that should only differ in shine but none of the 9 tested paints seem to match each other even in hue... There are even 4 different hues originating from the same manufacturer (Mr.Hobby)! Not to mention all manufacturers interpretation of shine. There goes all manufacturers colour accuracy claims down the drain, assuming all sprayed colours are on the same coloured base. The warm and cold grey you are referring to only exist in photographs and that is what paint manufacturers seems to base their colour accuracy claims on. Your test seems to prove that.
