Time to blow the dust off this one, first job. See where I got to and what I was thinking. A pencil comes in handy. ๐ค

Sub sections 1, 2 & 3 completed, as I am not used to doing a battleship I paint and do a light weathering as I go, so hull weathered wooden deck weathered added metal chains. Next weathering the torpedo launchers. ๐

Letting my eyes rest today, so did some prep work on assembly No7 ready for the wooden deck. And a quick dry fit. ๐

Wooden decks added, with a little help from watered down PVA glue. Will let dry for 24 hours before weathering. And last a dry fit. ๐

Almost, ready for weathering 5 parts out of 6 done on subsection 6.
And thank you David, never done a battleship before. So I am having to follow the instructions to the letter, but it shows how good this kit is. ๐

Productive day on sub section 9 about 50% done, it's small details which take the time and I done a lightly weathering as I add the parts including 3 sets of binoculars. ๐

Had a play, used a fine tip marker pen to put the black line on. The rest is all hand painting. Needs a little tidy up. But fairly happy. ๐

Almost done 12, to find the last piece is missing of the sprue ๐ข, but I always have a zip bag for all the loose stuff you find when you open the box. And there it was, so it's been primed now ready for top coat, then I add it.

Section 13 done
Main and secondary armourments are now weathered
First, with pencil
Second, a grey wash
Third, a rust wash using the spot method.
Small drops of wash, which I trail back using a cotton bud.
Last glue in to place. ๐

Stairs and lifeboats.
I also drilled out the aircraft launchers ramp ๐

On to section 15, the crane's and you guessed it, more lifeboats. ๐

Aircraft is almost done, just cockpit to do first the floor varnish. Then it's the decals for ship and plane. ๐

Thoughts on the kit.
It's really well thought out, not being a ship builder as a rule the instructions on the main are easy to follow.
I am sure ship builders would have made a better job of it, but over all I am well please. And a thank you to a friend down under for the advice and encouragement. Good on you Harry Houdini . ๐
