Hi everyone. Thanks for your interest. I can't take any credit for the colour, its bog standard Vallejo 71.003 Red. I think its actually a bit too bright, but when I tried to tone it down with Insignia Red it added a pink hue. That was not good, so I oversprayed it with the plain Red again. Perhaps a grey primer would have dulled it down a touch.
The kit itself was great to build and went together really well. I used no real filler at all (just a couple of spots of superglue). The undercarriage looked a challenge, but actually went together without issue. I wimped out on the most fiddly of the supplied PE parts but don't miss them. The canopy is clear with very fine framing (I'm pleased I bought the masking kit) but I don't think the rudder pedals or throttle levers would have been visible. The decals were tricky: normally long stripes can be kept straight by dragging them into position from one end, but these wouldn't move with the whole length in contact with the fuselage, so they ended up a bit wonky/broken. After a struggle with the underwing lettering, I was really worried that the massive serial across the upper wings would be a nightmare, but they actually provided much less drama.
