My new project is a Dune Ornithopter from Meng in 1/72. Dune is one of my favourite books, the model is great and I am really enjoying messing with the base, what can possibly go wrong?

Thanks Finn and likes, I have done now the main painting. I took the gamble that it fits perfectly and paint the parts before assembly... unnerving.

Assembly after painting was not perfect. The top part leaves a excessive panel line. In a more realistic build I would have liked to fill-sand-reescribe, but Arrakis is a tough environment and I am planning to over do it with the weathering. Let's see.

Maybe too much weathering... but Arrakis is a harsh desert planet. (I may clean up the pigments a bit this weekend.)
