F-16CJ Block 50

This kit has aftermarket radar, cockpit, 20mm cannon, missiles, landing gear bays, wheels, airbrakes, and exhaust, That's a lot of resin! 

The Hasegawa design has some major improvements over the Academy one, particularly in the wing root and rear fuselage areas. 

AN/APG-66 Radar from Czech Master Kits. I added the wires myself after noticing them in a number of reference photos. 

The canopy tint really stands out in this picture. 

The missiles are from the Hasegawa Weapons kit C and D, and marked using decals from TwoBobs 

The afterburner was a very challenging item to paint both inside and out. The uneven exhaust stains are due to the radial spacing of the fuel injector nozzles. 

The Aires airbrakes are nothing short of perfect. The basic kit's level of detail pales in comparison to these highly accurate brass and resin pieces. 

The markings are for a ship in the 20th Fighter Wing, Air Combat Command, based out of Shaw AFB, in South Carolina. 

This shot gives you a good look at the interior of the exhaust assembly. The detail of the afterburner is just top notch, especially since the "tiled" surface of the part is replicated in minute detail. So minute, in fact, it can't be fabricated using tra

The gold tint on the canopy was added by airbrushing a thin coat of Holbein acrylic paint. Also, note the scratch built grab bars fabricated from copper wire. 

Airbrakes and afterburner provided by AIRES.

I'm very very proud of my intake fan even though it's essentially hidden from view. Look at those turbine blades! 

The photo etched brass radar dish is an excellent approximation of the real thing. A single coat of tan paint worked out decently well in my case, but I'm going to try for a more realistic glossy finish on the next one I build.
