Yeah, isn't that gorgeous? I am positively in love with that one, too! 😄
The kit itself is neat, it's mabye less than 50 parts, 30+ years old and you still can throw some glue into the package, give it a shake and a completed plane falls out. Gotta love Tamiya in that regard! 😄

Nice Aotake colour, but the instrument panel should be painted in interior colour.

According to the instructions, the instrument panel is metallic blue, too. I was wondering if it's actually any different, but I like it better that way. 🙂

That said: some quick googling shows every A6M cockpit painted in a "regular" greenish color, where the Tamiya instructions clearly state "metallic blue-green" (actually metallic blue X-13). Did that switch at some point in the war?
I don't mind, since I am not aiming for historical accuracy here, but it leaves me wondering...

Checked some Instructions of Tamiya kits that are not as old (the A6M3 here is from the 80s) and there the cockpits are painted in cockpit green, thusly: the instructions are simply wrong. The more you know! 🙂

Ah, I'm fine! It *is* gorgeous and a 14€-kit, can still improve on that and want to build an A6M2 at some point anyway 🙂
(saving it now is nigh impossible too, or at least far too much effort)

I have the Tamiya A6M2 in my stash, plus some resin etc.... i am sure will be a great fun. i just do not have a clue when 😄

Album info
So, at this point I have 4 projects going 😄
Well, that way I always have something to build or paint, and I *had* to test out the gorgeous metallic blue-green Japanese interior! 😄
