Also, the Vallejo Matt varnish is AMAZING and MAGICAL.

LOL I may give it a go. A good acrylic matt that doesnt bubble decals would be nice.

Oh this stuff is... I don't even know how to explain it, it is like waving a magic wand over your model and watching it stop being shiny.
