great diorama but the boat sits much too high above the water, it would never pop out of the surface so much

And the point of the diorama is to show the submarine, so I think in any case, a little modeler's license is called for.

@Ben: The Typ VIIC had around 800 tons. The boat you showed have maybe 5 tons. You can not compare these two classes
