January 23, 2022The thickness of the keel of the ship's nose is wrong, it must be filed/sanded!5

January 23, 2022The correct fixing of the hull halves of the ship and the correctness of the resulting external joint surface.
The parts have internal stresses, one side of the hull is twisted and bent in one direction, the other side of the hull is facing the other way, and in the end result, the visible displacements of the hull sides remain on the outer surface. The outer surface has a detailed geometry and rivet pattern that cannot be over-sanded for correction and repair. This will ruin all that beautiful finished surface!
The correct fixing of the hull halves of the ship with each other with 8 pins (lower half) is not enough, additional surfaces must be added here, which ensure the correct positioning of the joint surfaces of the hull.9
January 23, 202210
January 23, 2022NOTE:
The 3 + 3 plates of the ship's deck and ship's hull do not stay correctly, the deck must be brought forward approx. 1 mm in order to align the "joints" of the plates.11
January 23, 2022In order to see how the parts fit together, the ship needs to be "assembled dry".
And here comes a series of surprises.
1. The thickness of the ship's nose keel is incorrect (3 mm on the model, it must be at least 0.5 mm.
2. The Deck of the Ship is short, the sections of the 3 + 3 panels of the first part do not run together, and the gap is about 1mm.
3. Height-depth controls - 3 positions!?, which ones are in use?
4. The correct fixing of the hull halves of the ship and the correctness of the resulting external joint surface.

5. If you want to look at the ship from below, the base included with the model (the ship's pedestal) does not allow this, the ship is too low from the surface. The base could raise the ship a little higher.12

Album info
A brief summary of what has been done through the eyes of the camera.
Corrections, additions, etc., which were successfully introduced into the model on the basis of literature and photographs.
Despite the proper model, adjustments and corrections had to be made.
___
I was able to delete the album in the meantime when I tried to change the order of the photos. But now the situation has been restored.
I hope it is helpful for the fellow fighters.
There is a new challenge ahead - to design and model proper carriers for the model on which to present the model.
3D design and modeling, then 3D print from different solutions.
Coming soon, go for a series of ideas that will materialize in the form of 3D files in the oven!
