VW T3 Transporter Kombi 1979 - Wip

The body was primed. 

 

The side parts were filled with putty. 

 

First I painted the wheels with spray paint and the caps with Tamiya XF-16 paint. 

But there was no difference between the rim and the cap, so I mixed XF-16 with XF-53 and painted it again. 

Now the difference is noticeable. 

The lower part was primed and painted. 

Dry fitting. 

 

 

 

The body was grinded and painted. 

 

The body was sanded and polished. 

All moldings are painted with Tamiya XF-1 marker. 

 

 

The door gaps were also painted. 

 

 

Various small details were painted. 

The magnet is glued to fix the sliding door. 

Cut out hole for one more magnet. 

The interior bathtub is painted in body color. 

Other parts were also painted. 

Masking tape was pasted and painted. 

 

 

The rubber mat in the front was painted. 

 

2 magnets were glued to the floor. 

The rear rubber mat is painted. 

The headlights and grille are glued. 

 

Side rear windows are glued. 

The window was cut out of 1.0 mm transparent plastic. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The lower part was painted. 

And glued. 

All suspension is fully installed. 

The model does not wobble on a flat surface, so the wobble test was successfully passed.

The windows were installed. 

The side middle windows were cut out of sheet transparent plastic. 

 

 

 

Lettering are glued. 

 

 

 

I finally found the right shade. 

That's how many different colors I bought to find the right shade. 

Here is a comparison, maybe someone will find it useful. 

I repainted the bumpers in a matte color. 

The heated glass is painted using Tamiya Tape and Tamiya Clear Red. 

 

The seats are glued. 

 

License plates are installed. 

 

Installed windshield wipers. 

I soldered copper wire to the rearview mirrors to make them more stable.
A bit of a weird way, but it works. 

And the mirrors are in place.
