Late WWII long-range heavy fighter and ground attack aircraft. Unusually the Mk. designations were not based upon serial improvements but allocated to the various engines tried in parallel, in case of engine development issues. The Mk. V was the most numerous, fitted with the mighty 2400 hp H-24 Napier Sabre engine.
