Restoration and / or improvement of an old kit

I have this kit since 1960.
After an unsuccessful attempt to build and paint it in 1960, I rediscovered it (57 years later !).
I am retired and have a little time to engage in the rewarding activity of going through some of my teen or young man projects.
Restoring my old kits is the most meditative of these activities, which also allows me to check to what extent I remain young.

This Revell kit is full of defects and inaccuracies, but also contains many interesting elements. It seems a good basis for improvements (with a lot of work ahead, so it will take time).
