Over mij

Grew up under the flight path into London Airport (now Heathrow) in the 1950s, which both created my interest in aircraft modelling, but the periods in which I'm interested in modelling- basically pre-1964, civil and military. As my wife is a keen car-booter (buying), I accumulated a large stash over the last 30 years, with a view to my retirement.

In the process of moving last year to our retirement home, I sold at least half my stash in order to downsize to less than 250, but also to focus on the projects of which I'm interested in. Discovering Scalemates has provided that focus, and I've already identified several kits that don't fit in, plus duplicates of what I really need (like 4 Airfix Heyfords??). The Scalemate database has helped my organise my stash, and opened my eyes to other options, especially decals and after-market accessories, as a result of which my wishlist is expanding.

I'm going to experiment in private until I feel ready to offer my first completed project to external comment, and learn.
