My father was an enthusiastic modeller and has been collecting kits since the 1960s.

When he was dying he told me to take the kits to a hobby shop because he knew there would be collectors who would love his models as much as he did.

I've been slowly collecting his models and finding good homes for them since February this year. My siblings and I are selling our parents things to raise money for cancer research but an unexpected consequence of selling dad's models has been gaining a greater understanding of my father and his passion and connecting to modellers who really are just so much like him. My two boys are now getting into it as well, although they are just at the appreciation of the box art stage.
