Personal interest:
The S-125 is a strategic air defense sytem that can engage targets at long ranges (up to 22 miles) and high altitudes (up to 59,000 feet). It consists of a SNR-125 radar and a quad-rail missile launcher. Iraq placed these systems near high value assets, but their range stretched into the no-fly zone patrolled by Operation Southern Watch aircrews.
