Thanks, I must take pix of the E-2C, RA-5C and S-3A that are also in this little club, along with getting another few of the stash kits built this year. It's amazing how many different aircraft and schemes are in this timeframe, yet still the same airwing on the same ship. I'm also including visiting aircraft so there's French Navy F-8, RN F-4 and many helicopters.

I recently found pics online from Nimitz's first shakedown cruise cruisebook, with CVW-8 and some others. Interesting to note a VF-142 F-14A along with a VMFA Phantom on at the same time. Both with AJ tailcodes. I also found a couple of pics that identify one of the RN Phantoms as 013/R. Need to repaint my 007!

Hey Roy, I will be starting a large Jolly Rogers History project. I will build all of the Aircraft that the Jolly Rogers flew from 1943 to today and will try to do as many marking as I kind find. This well be over 30 plus Aircraft and some 2 years to complete. And will do CVW-8 F-14's. I will post the projects starting with VF-17 Corsair's of 1943, stay tuned

Sounds cool. I have a few Jolly Rogers planned as well besides the CVW-8 ones. F9F-8, F3D, F-4B & J, and F/A-18F.
