The pit is almost finished. Next steps are glueing the remaining pe parts, a clear coat and a wash.

Nice start on that cockpit, Sören! And an interesting plane. I'll be tagging along, mate!😉
9 June 2018, 11:15

An X plane ! Exactly my kind of topic, what do you think of the kit ?
9 June 2018, 13:51

So far it looks nice:
It will probably need some filler and sanding like the X-1, but the dry fitting didnt show anything serious
9 June 2018, 13:56

Welcome Dave😉
The pit is now finished and its time for my favorite step - filling and sanding 🙂
Sadly this kit probably needs a lot of it.......
19 June 2018, 20:51

Thx Bart😉 This one is currently a bit on hold, because the Tunnan needs to be finished first.

Thx Katya
@ Dave
Only more Vallejo Putty on it, but there will be some Updates soon

Ach Quartsch, ausserdem bist Du ja noch garnicht fertig und kannst jetzt aus meinen Fehlern lernen 😉
17 June 2019, 18:10

Two / Three tiny spots are still need some attention, but I hope to fix these soon, so that I can start with the paintjob.
26 August 2019, 07:43

Thx Oliver and Stephan!
I hope that this one will turn out ok in the end!
Simple kit but still a lot of work - for me anyway. 😄
27 August 2019, 10:25

Of course à lot if work!
But you know Whats possible with this Kit 😛
28 August 2019, 16:04

Its called black basing
doogsmodels.com/2014..hnique-black-basing/
I just used different colors underneath to create some color variation

Thx Daniel😉
Ive managed to paint one wing now with the last and final layer of RLM02
1 September 2019, 13:25

Thx Jim and Holger
@ Jim
Give it a try. Its easy to achieve and the result looks more convincing than normal pre shading for example😉
2 September 2019, 14:56

Splendid preshade technique... I use this method on white aircraft (with the different colors, minus the black borders in between, just the panels in different pale colors)
7 September 2019, 05:41

Thank you Bart and Stephan.
I'm a big fan of black basing.
Sure normale Pre-Shading with Black over the Panel Lines is probably much easier and faster, but I dont like the "chessboard" look in the end 🙂

Thank you Spanjaard & Torsten
@ Torsten

8 September 2019, 07:12

Thank you Katya 🙂
@ Torsten

Thx Oliver
The decals are done to 99% - one "Hakenkreuz" is missing - and I have to repaint one panel at the engine in aluminium
9 September 2019, 14:45

Oh wow, looking great! I should probably try this kit again at some point, to replace the mess I made of it last time...
9 September 2019, 19:12

Fantastic looking Heinkel, Soeren! The burnt metal effect on the exhausts looks great!
9 September 2019, 20:43

Thanks Katya and Gordon
@ Katya
You should - I think its a great kit to test new techniques and stuff like that
10 September 2019, 05:25

I suspect I could do a far better job now I have an airbrush! Oh if I might ask, how did you make the holes in the wings for the engines to fit into? I remember having a lot of trouble with that.
10 September 2019, 10:32

Thanks Erik - Really happy that you like it 🙂
@Katya
I drilled holes around the inner edges of it - I use this tool for my models: ak-interactive.com/p..-hobby-pin-vise-set/ - and after that I used a hobby knife to clean the edges of the hole.
10 September 2019, 10:35

Aha, I do have a pin vise, but I think it is much smaller than this... it's something to think about though!
10 September 2019, 16:05

As long as the drills are smaller as the hole, it doesnt matter how big the vise is😉
You need do drill several holes around the edges and then remove the remains with the knife
