The "Big Beautiful Doll" is one of the most iconic P-51D Mustangs of World War II, famously flown by Colonel John D. Landers of the 78th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force. With its polished silver fuselage, bold black-and-white invasion stripes, checkerboard nose, and distinctive red lettering, this Mustang wasn't just deadly — it had serious style.
Armed with six .50 caliber machine guns and powered by the legendary Packard-built Merlin engine, *Big Beautiful Doll* was built for speed, range, and power. It escorted bombers deep into enemy territory and racked up an impressive combat record. Today, it remains one of the most recognized and beloved warbirds, symbolizing both American air superiority and a pilot's pride in his plane.
