Assemble first, paint later this time - I want this chassis to be solid, so needs to be firmly cemented together (easier with bare plastic everywhere).
Underside assembled, wheels on, even some pigment-mud applied on the tyres, some rust to give it a bit of character, and a bit of blue-ing to the exhaust.
K6 crash tender part assembled, couple of sub-assemblies drying above... not sure why ScaleMates have rotated the image -- even tried rotating it 180 degrees first then uploading, and it still did it!! Just hold your monitor / laptop / mobile upside down :-D :-D
Last chance to see ... the "CO2" and "foam" cylinders in all their glory before they get mostly covered up.
Yes, I am that sad that I painted the valves on the ends according to UK/European fire extinguisher colours :-D
(Phew, photos are the right way up again!)
Not exactly stretching the decal skills on this one, a total of 3 number plates (all that comes in the box). Would've gone for an allied star on the bonnet but didn't have any in the right size.
Russ HainesForfatter Still plenty of time for me to make a pig's ear of it 😄
At least I'm not going red - the one I built 40 years ago was a bloody mess!!
