Here is another gorgeously detailed 1/700 model ship kit that is offered only as a waterline. My options are to buy this kit and the Trumpeter kit and stick Trumpeter's bottom hull onto this kit or just ignore this kit and buy the Trumpeter kit alone with PE detailing and panel line creation.

Since I totally hate companies that issue new 1/700 ships in waterline only I will buy the Trumpeter kit.
I'm sure the waterlines out there will say waterline is what everyone wants but I disagree.
