nice one so far... Feeling lucky it's not my transporter... although I think the weight shoud be more evenly divided, but with some indents in the roof...

I was not paying attention, then the head was on the floor. 😭 A nozzle was destroyed. Since I built a battle damage from the broken parts ...

Hi Thomas, it's an kit: scalemates.com/kits/161166-plusmodel-386-u-s-workshop-crane No time in the moment to built scratch 😭

Jonns, besides your outstanding modeling skills I need to tell you that your ideas always fascinate me.
This is first class scale modeling! Keep it up! 👍

very nice... I don't know wether you have some pencil or metal powders (like the ones from Ushi VDR), then you could try to buff up the cilinder part of the crane, as these are highly polished in reality. But it still is a very nice work, and the way the suspension of the VW is going seems a lot more plausible.

You're right Bart, I'll get this week an better foil to make the cylinder rod more polished. Thanks for your compliment 🙂

The hydraulic rod on the crane can be easily replicated with a sewing needle cut to length, and they come in all sizes. 🙂 Just s thought. 👍

It's also a wonder that some film company hasn't snapped you up to create things for them Jonns.:-O
Your imagination is going to waste if not.:-/
Send a resume to all of them.👍

If you like it, then all the work has paid off! Many Thanks mates! @Kerry, I will change this part, either with foil or real metal. Thanks for your thoughts! 🙂
13 December 2015, 11:46

Kisses @ Kerry 🙂 Finishing position. This is the place of vehicles and parts to the Base. Now comes the final sprint!
13 December 2015, 19:45

Wow, thats incredible.... with the right camera settings and background you wouldn't be able to tell what was real (life size) or not! I'm in awe o.O
Out of curiousity, what weathering techniques did you use on that fuel drum? Using salt or something under paint? And what did you make it from?
13 December 2015, 20:08

Thx Steven fot your nice words! I uses the hairspray technique, first rust brown, then hairspray, then white/red. With water and a hard brush I rubbed the top color slightly down. I only use water acryl colors (Vallejo, Ammo, AK) Finish with brown colors variation und some earth pigments and Ak's Engine Oil.

Thanks for the info Jonns, i'm a total noob here so going to research that method now 🙂 cheers for that.
13 December 2015, 21:39
