Unbelievable Mike!👍
Others would need weeks for such quality and accuracy.

Beautiful work Mike, exactly like Ulf said, would take me weeks to get not even close to that !

Hi Mike another fantastic build. You are one gifted modeler Sir

Mike, I'm building a Focke Wulf Triebflugel at the moment, 1/72 and it comes in a pretty poor plastic and not really well cast. So as this is my first Huma kit, are all their kits the same quality? I held them in higher regard.

Thanks a lot guys! 👍
@Ben I've only built this and the Me 209, and both were nice kits. Quite basic, but cleanly moulded and good fit. I also had their Dornier Wal which looked great on the sprue. So I'm surprised to hear their Triebflugel has issues, I wonder if it was one of their earlier releases.

@ Ben I´ve seen quite a few Huma kits and they always looked nice. Apparently you grabbed a "monday kit"😢
And soon, i´ll start my Triebflügel too! 🙂

Lovely subject, great work as usual. One day, eh? I'm speechless 🙂

Another great model! And for a one day project, it is magnificent!
Cheers

Immaculate job! 👍👍👍
What's your paint secret? Mulriple very thin layers?
16 January 2016, 10:36

Thanks guys!
@Burkhard Because this was a 24-hour build I used Gunze Mr Color lacquer paint, which goes on super-smooth and dries virtually instantly.

Beautiful work Mike, as usual! Since you've noted that you used Mr. Color lacquer paints, can you tell us what thinner you used and if you had any "spider webs" (the paint drying in mid-air on its way from the airbrush to the model)? I occasionally get the spider webs even when using Mr. Color Leveling Thinner (which I believe is a retarder). I have no problems like this with the Aqueous colours. Cheers, Bill

@Bill No, I've never had that happen (I do use the self-levelling thinner).
18 January 2016, 23:17

Thanks, Mike. I wonder if PSI has an effect. I usually spray at 15-20 PSI.
19 January 2016, 02:13

Great job and just went online and brought one, hope mine goes as well
21 January 2016, 21:38

Bill, I too used to have spider webs with Mr. Color paints, but have eliminated the problem by used their thinner and thinning the paint a little more that with other paints. Hope this helps, and apologies for hijacking the topic.

Just saw that marvel; congratulation to that most beautiful model!

Album info
I built this as a 'Blitzbau' entry – start and finish a model in a day – over on the Unofficial Airfix Modelers' Forum. The kit was perfect for it. Great fit of parts, a simple colour scheme and enough detail out of the box, although I did replace the seat and added seat belts.
