Omg what a great Camo, how many time did you spend with cutting out those litte pieces... :-0

Not as long as you may think, Christian, though my eyes got pretty tired! Thanks for the compliment.

Makes it worth while if you guys like it! Thanks Peter and David. I bet it was easier for the Italian ground crew to apply than it was on the model. If you study contemporary photos of Regia Aeronautica aircraft there are many variations on the shape, intensity and hardness/softness of edge of the applied splotches. I reckon they followed a broad set of guidelines in the field and in this case it seems to have been 'd'you think this paintbrush will do the job?' Notice that the CA313 has a very soft edge pattern in comparison (it's the European theatre green scheme). I sprayed that freehand.

Nice and clean build Geoff, love those Italian colours/camo schemes ! 👍

That looks a very painstaking process to get the effect on the camo, but it looks very good.

I don't think I'll repeat it but couldn't figure a better way to do it at the time. I agree, Wilfried, Italian colour schemes are great.
Album info
Italeri has issued several kits of this elegant aircraft. This, I believe, is the most recent and definitely improved on previous ones. I decided to finish it in the typical Regia Aeronautica 'sand and spinach' camouflage and used progressive masking with Tamiya tape. I started the upper surfaces with dark green then cut the mask for dark brown, finally cutting the mask for sand. Once that was done on went the light grey undersides, wing leading edge and nose. Finally, the fuselage white theatre stripe. All colours were Model Master lacquer (I won't spray anything else if I can avoid it). The kit is strictly out of the box, no after-market accessories, replacements etc. because there's lots of detail anyway and most of it is hidden. The last shot shows the completed aircraft with my earlier build of Italeri's Caproni CA313.
