Creating 3 P-40 models, all from Mauve, one P-40M without box, one P-40N with box and one P-40N in Eduard boxing.
The boxless P-40M will be converted to a L model with a resin Merlin nose and in US desert camouflage.. The P-40N with box will be a Dutch NMF P-40N with a True details cockpit and wheels. The Eduard one will be build as on the boxart with the badass skull on the nose, off course with all the resin goodies supplied in the box.

No..😮 But I have another P-40 in the stash James, an E from Hasegawa..think that one MUST be adorned with a shark mouth..🙂

That eduard P-40N with the skulls is a nice kit, only let down is the huge gap between the wingroots and the hull (I remember being 1-1.5mm both sides...

Welcome mates! The resin will be the most challenging, otherwise this will be a rather quick build I guess(hope).. And maybe some fit issues in the wing-root as Bart points out, we'll see!
Made a little start with the resin bits. The P-40L uses the kit cockpit and the other resin ones. Nice to see the differences!

Cockpits are ready, nice to see differences in the 3. Deleted the Checkerteail decals, added Kits-World decals to the project. I like Pinups on a P-40 more than a checkered tail 😄

Put the "F" nose to the fuselage. Not a perfect fit but very acceptable, off course some filling and sanding was required. A coat of some primer will reveal further imperfections.

Really beautiful Erik, well done so far ... I have not yet applied these skills ... I am following your master class 😉

Haha you are way too kind Jos, I'm just an average modeller having some fun trying to build some models 🙂

Having some fit issues at the wing root as bart pointed out. It appears that the kit cockpit also functions as a bracket which gives the fuselage the correct width. My P-40F uses the kit cockpit and fits great, the other 2 need some sprue to give the fuselage the correct width.
