Clifford: Just took at a your build. It's verry nice. I took some notesfrome it on what to do on mine. I think I'll press fit the rockets pods so I can put them on & off.
David: It'e a verry nice kit IMO with very good fit so far. I would even say on par with the last Hasegawa. kit I done You can feel it use too be a top tier offering. Mine was cheap too because it was pre own. The PE addition is nice but even the "plastic only" versions would make it for a good bang for for your bucks. The more I build kits, the more I feel like the PE cockpit lack texture. Granted the dials detailing is way better & easier.

Guillaume, the Me is slowly but surely taking on more and more shape. You're doing really well and it's sure to be an eye catcher. Keep it up 🙂

Taking shape there Guillaume. Looks like that difficult window masking has been taken care of nicely.

Thanks Christian & Nathan.
The Tamiyia masking tape plus a toothpick teahnique is making marvel for me. I used to dread complex WW2 cannopys & now love to work on them.

Looking forward to it. I am building a 1/48 P-51A and I am going to try either the hair spray or chipping medium method for chipping this time. I'm not real happy with my sponge tech. Also going to use water color pencils.

I have yet to try the airspray method. I'll look into it.

You put a layer of hairspray on the areas you want to chip, then paint as normal. Once the paint is dry, you simply take a brush wet the area you want chipped and remove the amount of paint you want chipped. I do not know what color German aircraft were primed in. On the P-51 I will paint it aluminum, then add a layer of zinc chromate to selected areas over that. Then paint the entire aircraft in netural grey and olive drab. Adding a layer of hair spray between the zinc chromate and main colors on the wing leading edges, tail plane leading edges and around the wing roots and panels that are removed often, then chip those areas. Sounds easy, but we will see. LOL.

Seem interesting. I once tried scratching the acrylic over a coat of laquer paint with a toothpick. It worked well on edges but created unrealistic scratch at the middle of pannels. As if someone would have ''keyed'' the airplane. I think the airspay metod could have been usefull in this case. I wIll be watching this P-51.

I need to do some work on it. The Tomcat has been taking up to much of my time. Hope to finish it this weekend, finally got some stuff I had been waiting for in the mail this afternoon.

Thanks Joshua.
Masking kit are great, but I find them explensive for the advantage they give me. I came to the conclusion that a good x-acto blade & Tamiya tape are working better for me. I used a toothpick to create a crease in the tape so It can see the limits of the glass surface and then cut it off with the blade.

Hi Guillaume. I just came across your 410 build, while doing some research for a future project.... fantastic & inspirational work mate! 🙂 👍

Thank you Rui S & Sebastian
Glad I could serve as inspiration Sebastian. I don't know of you are going to build the Revell kit, but it's a great kit to work on.

A real good model! I like the way you painted leather in the cockpit.Looks great!

Thank you guys! happy that you like my model. I had a lot of fun with the interior. Especially adding wire for the fire control system at the rear.
The leather was made by spraying XF-64 and dry brushing with XF-59.

@Guillaume: yes, I have the Revell/Mogramm kit in my stash. It certainly looks like a really nice kit 🙂
