Simon Nagorsnikfor the fact that you had a few problems with the dio, it has become really great!
I really like the idea of this scene, would fit wonderfully into a movie 😁

Bobby Thumbs AutorThank you Simon. The crackle came up well the 2nd try around. I visited a local art supply store on a whim. Got a crackle medium made by Jo Sonja. That worked really well as you can see in the pics (only minor complaint I have is that it drys glossy so I had to dull it down a bit afterwards). I don't know what happened with the AK crackle texture - I tried all different amounts and thickness on a piece of card and nothing seemed to work. Either the bottle I got was old and lost its crackle or AK sells snake oil - I don't know.
I'm going to take a break from dio projects for a bit. Making vehicles, figures and concepting a dio can get a bit out of hand financially. I have been inspired by Mathias Decommerce's Ardenne forest dio so I may just play around with making a forest. I have also found Mandalorian and Bo Katan 1/24 figures I might have a go at (just for a change).

Almost done on this diorama. Waiting on some taller grass and c4 ration boxes to arrive. May or may not put them on. I might go back and play around with the tattoo it's looking too black atm. The crackle (take 2) worked well. I didn't weather the vehicle too heavily. Pretty happy with the result so far.
