Tank you both! This kit is really very simple and quick to assemble. So far, it has a nice fit and is enjoyable to build.

do not repeat the general error of the modelers. The frontal cover of the cab glazing is not painted there were two pieces of plastic overlapping

Buckle up Roland!
Alexander, Can you elaborate? Just to be sure, you're talking about the area encircled on picture #7?

Good afternoon. no it's not that part. This is the front part in front of the sight vertical stripes .I do not know how to insert a photo here I will have to place in your branch

Guillaume, I think what he means is the wind shield. Consisting of (I believe...) three individual pieces of perspex, that were not framed individually, but overlaping and glued (?) together which resulted

Thank Alexanderfor the pictures ( Mig -3 cockpit | Album by kadetka36).
Indeed Sebastian the front windshield consist of 3 pieces glued. It always foun to learn while building.
There is also a unpainted area at the rear of the central piece. I think I try to separated the central glued canopy part. I glued it for an easier paint job, but it has just caused me trouble so far since I found out after gluing, that I had forgot the aiming device in the box 🤔 ) Plus, I'll be able to open the canopy when I want to show the interior.

Thank you Michael.
I done some correction on the air intake with styrene strips. It's a lot cheaper than resin kit 😉

Thank you guy! The preshading worked well with the AK paint until I got a weird reaction using the AMT-7 Blue. In some area the black you rise trough the blue coat after 5 min. I waited 15 min to let everything dry. I then applied a clear coat and re applied the light blue over the damaged area. It seemed to resolve my issues.

coming along great. the preshading and effects on the wings especially, they are showing just enough tru the basecolor. i guess it's even better up close in person than the images.

Oils paint is done for the under carriage. I need a bit more clear cot on the top better I can finish it.
Hope you enjoy the show Nathan, You'll see It's a great lit for the price.

Thanks Villiers , the experience is starting to sink in and I'm getting more confident to experiment with Oil. I must says that these technique (the Oils paints ones) are a true game changer.

Very nice painting but one mistake was not corrected I thought before the final coloring you will fix .Both ailerons should not be lowered down .one should be up
2 April 2022, 09:02

You are right they go the opposite way. I was mixing them up with flaps.

Looking awesome 👍
Your project and album titles indicates that this is an Academy kit, but the Trumpeter kit is showing instead? Just curious as I also have the trumpeter kit and was wondering if it is the same etc.
3 April 2022, 16:50

You are right it is a Trumpeter kit. I tend to mix these to manufacturers. Thanks for waking me up 😉

I TOTALLY would have made the same mistake with the ailerons! TOTALLY! This is turning out great! May I ask what oils you are using for your wash?

I used a set called LEATHER AND WOOD by Abteilung for the ''mains stains and dirt effects''. It consist of mostly brown shade with a red and orange one. For the other colors I bough a Oil paint beginner set at and art store (Micheal's). It's not as good quality (although I don't see much difference between the twos) as the first one, but I more than enough to create any shade & color I need for weathering.

The work is just super and sorry that I am so nasty but the propeller blades should be turned in the other direction just change the screw by 180 degrees (yes I myself am such when in a hurry)
