haha,There is no way I will let anyone else choose the color of my car.

Pink suits it. No body could take this seriously as a military vehicle, it looks like Noddy should in the driving seat. 😉

My first thought was Pink Panther, Gorby... but in the end it is the same 😉

You're too kind to me, Villiers, thank you! Your description fits your projects too...and many, many other modellers here at Scalemates.

LOL This seems like something I would do for the missus as well! Lately I've fallen under her spell & have been acquiring colorful trainer types from 1930 to 1980. It certainly breaks up the monotony of military colors or a NMF!

George, I hit the mother lode with the darlin' I found back in '96, because she's been a builder herself since 2001. The only rub to that is figuring out how much of the modeling budget goes to she or I. Our adult son is also a builder but he has his own separate modeling budget. 😄

Brilliant, I love it! 😄
I really must get one of these and do as Noddy's car (I have no idea if Noddy is just a British thing).

Go for it, Gorby! The only issue is masking the transparencies in the hood... But you will install it in the folded down version, I presume... 😉

Like it (Psychedelic Furs, Pretty in Pink) Yay! Noddy, yep definitely looks like Noddy's car Gorby. Nice little motor Robert.

Robert, I do really like this cute little car, I could easily imagine someone restoring one of these for their lady friend or wife & painting it in these colors! I'm curious as to what caused the paint to fracture like this? I've never seen this phenomenon before.

Thank you, S M, much appreciated 🙂
@Tony - in fact, I have seen some women's clothes on which such colors were brought together, so that was an inspiration. I suppose the fracture was the effect of using different brands of paints. The fuchsia colour was from Testors range, while clear varnish was from AK (as far as I remember...)

@ Robert Definitely not a bad choice in colors!
Wait, that's what caused the paint fractures?! I never imagined that could happen. Then again, up until a few years ago, I exclusively used Testors, Model Master & Tamiya with just a few tins of Humbrol Enamels in the mix. When I returned to the hobby several years ago Model Master products were a thing of the past so I eventually settled on Ammo by Mig Jimenez as my new primary brand. I liked their stuff, well, for a while.
I was very annoyed when they suddenly switched production over to their ATOM line. I haven't seen any sort of feedback about how well their colors match up from the old formula to the new or whether they react poorly with one another. I can't get a response out of Ammo by Mig Jimenez on the topic either; Even when I write my correspondence in Spanish. Anyway this left my son & I stranded with a lot of partial bottles or a small supply that will carry us over for a short time. The fact that the new formula is more expensive doesn't leave me terribly happy either.
Now I'm playing with Hataka Blue Line, while still using the old Ammo where I can or need. Whenever I get an airbrush & compressor though I haven't really decided if I'll try out AK, Vallejo or if I'll stick with Hataka & just add their Red Line acrylic paints to my selection. Ammo? No how, no way. You know what they say; "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
Meanwhile I'm going to take this to heart to test how different varnishes react to different types of paint. For the most part I keep separate thinner for each brand in my stash & I've been trying to get brand specific clear varnishes for all of them too. That's easier said than done though.

I am not sure about the brand of the varnish, Tony. Surely, I have only bad experience with Vallejo gloss spray varnish - it sizzles and doesn't dry out for a very long time, giving rather "bumpy" than smooth coat. But the worst was AK Ceramic Varnish - take a look here:

You're right that the best idea is to test varnishes beforehand... "easier said than done" 😉

Oh, wow, Robert! That looks terribly painful. It was shaping up to be such an interesting looking bird too! I need to pick up some Hataka lacquer to see if it's formulated in such a way that it won't cause blue line acrylics to yellow, crack or peel. I think it's solvent based rather than water or latex but I'm fuzzy on those details. (Remember, prior to my foray into Ammo by Mig, I exclusively dealt with sturdy enamels; I miss them dearly!)
I can very much relate to that statement; It IS easier said than done about testing stuff! Whenever I sit down at the table to work I want to get moving on my projects - not just fiddle about with "chemistry experiments."

When I saw Kurogane, my first idea was: the car of Pink Panther... Sorry, I could not resist 😉
