Going to do a quick build of this ancient and simple kit. Shape wise I am happy with the body out of the box. Wheels and tires are ridiculously over scaled. Sourced some resin ones that I believe will work. Box art shows a blue car but this is incorrect. It was a dark green. Actually the car that gave legs to the green open wheel race cars are bad luck legend. That persisted at Indianapolis for a long, long time. I added some generic gauges and cut some styrene discs to add as bezels just to add to the instrument cluster a bit.

I love older kits I find it facilitating that thay are still around and interesting to see what thay are like
I got one from 65 I think that's the oldest I got
Now there is one less kit out there that's very old lol

I've got a few from the 50s. To me it's Fun to build and see how kits were back then

Radiator painted, chassis completed and rear suspension and axle installed. Also got the distinct radiator shroud installed and got the decals down.

I thank you for building kits like this
Very interesting and I am sure many others are interested to

Thanks guys. The fit on this really isn't too bad either. It goes together in halves like an airplane fuselage so I had to do some filling and puttying and a couple locator holes have been too small but it sticks together pretty nicely. Having fun with it.

Ah yes! On the photos I've found from 1920 the hood 4 slanted one way and the rear 4 slanted the opposite way. With the right side 4 being basically straight up and down! I thought that was interesting. I love the research aspect as much as anything.

Quick and simple update. Aftermarket wheels and tires painted with white spokes and gray rubber. Steering wheel chromed and wood grained. More later.

And this one goes across the finish line. Had a lot of fun. Built straight out of its 1958 boxing with the addition of resin wheels and a scratch built hand pump for the mechanician to operate. On to the next

Congratulations kyle very nicely done
Every time I see the gray tyres it just dosent look right
In my mind tyres should be black
But yes your right right colour for the time

Thanks Jv. And yeah the gray tires are certainly not what we're used to are they?

Cool build tho nice to see what an old kit like that is like
No I don't there isn't many models that call for it

Lovely outcome! 👍
Please tell me more about the wheels! The spokes looks like wires?

Thank you all!!
Yes indeed Frank, hand laced wire wheels. Really beautiful pieces and they add a lot to my build.
