The Century Series is a very interesting group of US fighter aircrafts which implemented various technological novelties. The pathway to Convair F-102 Delta Dagger which originates to the Convair XF-92 (a delta wing, 1st generation jet prototype) was a challenging one. With the YF-102 prototype experiencing low performance on the transonic regime, Area Rule had to be used in order to obtain the successful F-102 design.
