this will represent a model of the Bordurian Messerschmitt Bf109 from the TinTin album "King Ottokar's Sceptre".
the Bf109 that the Bordurians use, and our hero "borrows", is mostly a hotchpodge of different variants. the propellor and wings are from a BF109F, the fuselage and engine seems to be of a Bf.109A/B/D, and the canopy seems to be from a Bf.109E.
so im gonna be using a mix of different kits to build this. im gonna use the Armory 1/144 Bf.109A/C as a basis, use the wingtips and prop from a Zvezda 1/144 Bf109F and the canopy from an Armory Bf109E.
decals will be DIY.

Ive done some research on the various Bf109 kits i have in the stash, and found they are quite compatible to one another.
especially the Armory Bf109E, which comes with a wide selection of different canopies that also fit with the Revell and Zvezda 109's.
this is a good thing to know as it offers options to upgrade these rather old or crudely-made kits.
for this project, im gonna use the Armory Bf109A/B as a basekit, from the zvezda kit im gonna salvage the wings (or just the wingtips) and the propellor. for the latter, i have used a 1mm drill to hollow out the gunbarrel in the propellorhub.
after looking a the original comic, im gonna keep the A/B canopy and not use one of the early Emil version.
