Started the Hasegawa YZR500 today. Building Kevin Magee's 1988 bike. Couldn't get my hands on the actual kit, so bought the BariBar version and some Hobby Design decals. I've not built a Hasegawa bike before, so should be interesting.
Can already tell it's not as well fitting as a Tamiya kit, but looks like an enjoyable challenge.

Amazing build. Just bought this version for a K. Ohishi's camel YZR 500. I only did old tamiya kit from the 80's like the KR500 and the Virago... hope this kit will go well.

Thanks Phil, was a LOT OF FUN. More fun than the old Tamiya kits - of which I have a few and am about to embark on! You wont be disappointed. Only thing to watch out for is the small attachment points for cables and spark plugs.

haha i broke my spark plug attachments, but i feel the fit of these hasegawas is actually better than a lot of tamiyas i've built, currently building the eddie lawson marlboro version

I agree Matt. I think I wrote those comments about fit before finishing the kit. The fit is very good, almost too good - the fit of the fairings is VERY tight. I'm now building the '89 NSR500. Fantastic kit. The plastic is very brittle.....
