Personal Interest:
Several battalions of the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) operated the M2A2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) for the mechanized infantry and cavalry missions during my tour of duty at Ft. Carson. Although 4th Infantry did not deploy for Operation Desert Storm, the armor was nonetheless painted desert sand in case rapid deployment became necessary. M2A2 Bradley IFVs were frequently operated on the Fort Carson reservation and the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site for exercises.
