I really didn't think the paint that comes with the kit (196 Light Grey) was the right colour, so I overpainted it with a darker grey instead, and I think it looks much better, or it will after another coat...

I know the lights are actually lower down, but they are so small I decided to pretend the black clusters over the number plate and badge were lights instead...

When I first ordered this kit, I hoped I would be confident enough to have a go at weathering it, as it seemed a perfect choice. In fact I have tried a while back with a bit of smoke on a Spitfire, but this is the first 'real' attempt I've made. I know it looks a little hammy, but overall I am pretty happy with this...

The design of this kit is so good, it's one of the best of the new starter kits I think. The only disappointment is that the 196 Light Grey is not dark enough, and I don't even think it's grey (my wife thinks I'm colour blind). It looks more like Old English White to me. Great to build though, and I#m not even sure any of the clear parts actually need glue at all...
