Ah, the old Monogram F-100. I've built that kit many times, it's a good one. Save my seat, I need to go make some popcorn! 🙂

@Bill.. I love the old monogram molds.. since the hind, i've started collecting the 1:48 monogram kits.. Oh and gents...bewarned.. I have two more hinds so far to build.. MWHAHAHAHAAH

I think the only old Monogram quarter scale kit I don't like is the F-14. That one's a pig. The Convair Delta Wings are really nice, the F-102 and F-106.

@Guido - I think we need some nachos, too.
 10 July 2012, 22:53
Augie Author
yeah bill,m your not wrong.. i have one of the 14's and yeah its a pig..

Their quarter scale F-111A is not so good, either, as it's basically the old Aurora kit with some more panel lines added. But I grew up with their original models in the 60s, you know the ones with bombs that drop, flaps that move, landing gear that retracts, etc. I loved it, even though the "moveable" features usually broke after you used them once or twice...

Never seen the mono f-111a.. but i swear i would kill for a F-19

Better rent a giant screen and put them all in the garden

Or better, maybe Tim can incorporate a video thing device so we can broadcast modelling sessions on Scalemates thru our webcam

Augie Author
Hehe that almost sounds wrong asking female modeller to model on cam 😉
 11 July 2012, 21:04

Goin' strong Augie, say, do you use flat or round brushes for your pant jobs ?
 15 July 2012, 12:09
Wilfried Bogaerts
hihi, sorry, I mean PAINT jobs hihi 🙂
 15 July 2012, 12:09
Augie Author
lol i use flat brushes mainly willy, i find they give best coverage and leave the fewer brush marks
 15 July 2012, 12:12
Wilfried Bogaerts
Thx! Another one, if using enamels (Humbrol, Revell...) do you thin them or do you pop your brush straight into the jar ?
 15 July 2012, 12:17
Augie Author
very much depends on the paint.. some cans are thicker than others.. most are thined further ands its multiple coats
 15 July 2012, 14:30
