Arma Hurricane Mk IIc build 01

I have 2 Hellcats in progress but held up for a canopy issue. Honestly, I think the Hurricane is an odd looking bird, but I just HAD to start this build, my first from Arma Hobby! I can't wait to reveal my choice of finish! 

The cockpit decal, I believe is correct with the small left outline of a brown pocket. I saw a picture somewhere where above the small brown pocket is a metal 'bin'. That is why the decal outline is not as large as the raised area. The instrument panel took a few coats of solution, but it went down o.k. 

At first I thought the 'H' looking detail stood for Hurricane LOL but no it really exists, although the stick for shifting is excluded. I used the seat belt decals because I don't think you will be able to see much in the cockpit once it is closed. 

The starboard wing root has a tiny bit more space than the port side (although you can't tell in this photo, I can see it when I press the wing pieces together). It is not a big deal and maybe my fault. Make sure the gear bay area sits flat onto the wing piece, and test fit! 

 

 

This odd bird is starting to take shape. First time I drilled holes out for the cannons on any model ever. It was quite scary, I had to cut off the first section of barrels off the wings and then drill 4 giant holes. Then, while test fitting the metal cannons, I had one of the cannons fall into the wing@#!! I was ready to buy another set, but used a flashlight to locate the cannon inside the wing, then fished it out. Notes: 1. The plastic is soft, use a light hand when sanding. 2. Glue a stopper inside the wing before gluing together to prevent the cannons from falling in. 3. It might be a better idea to leave the plastic cannon barrels on and just adding the next two metal sections (the cannons come in 3 sections). 

Great fitting pieces but still a lot of work. It is ready for a light primer for error checking.
