There where some Cables for the leds. For this project i learned to solder. Which caused some grey hair and some new wrinkles on my forehead but i got the work finally done.
The idea for the diorama was a place where the coal and water for the oven can be reloaded and where you can visit the "restroom" (a steampunk equivalent of a motorway service station one could say)
This was the first sketch
I made a little Arch where Roses should grow. So i made some.
First i painted some cigarette paper red, then cut it into strips and glued these strips on pieces of thin wire.
Then rolled the paper into a rose-like shape
Wrap pieces of the green paper around the wire and glue it (don't glue your fingers, dont glue your tweezers and most importently don't glue your fingers to your tweezers...)
Repeat untill you have made enough flowers or untill you have made it into asylum...
It's growing
To camouflage the cables i put the inside of a spool of thread into the base and glued sand on it. It's not perfect but it was the best i could do at this time. I should have used ultra thin copperwire and hide it behind the tires but as a soldering novice it was hard enough to get the work done without losing my mind
In July 2021, on my 44th birthday, i bought my first modelling kit, a MiniArt "Austin Armoured Car 1918" - because i wanted to make some steampunky thingy of it...
My partner is a scale modeller since his childhood and I knew i could count on his help...
Many many hours later I had it done - but what now? It needed something it could live in... And there where some cables to be hidden... Long story short it got me into Diorama-Building.
It was my first project ever so it has its faults - but i love it anyway. 🙂
