The engine is one of the biggest differences... The K75's engine is shorter and it shows in the valve cover, and the number of exhausts. However, as this was a completely OOB project, it was built as such.
The 750cc legend in the radiator fairing is hand painted.
The headlight unit was different in this K75. I painted the chrome surround in an attempt to fake it.
The seat is directly left in Vallejo Black spray primer. I thought it came off looking quite like the seat should look, so it was left in primer.
Well at least the license plate is correct 🙂
And the little flag of Asturias just below it had to be added.
The K75 legend is hand painted.
The aft exhaust face should be triangular in a K75 rather than four sided...

Andrés Fernández LucenaAuthor Neither did I! I found the differences along the build process...motorbikes never sparked my interest. Since I built it however I've spotted a few of these around my city.
Thank you for your comment Spaanjard!

A friend came three days ago with a Tamiya 1:12 BMW K100. He asked for help building it as his uncle's K75. Well there are lots of differences that we had to ignore as there was no time for actual modifications, but if he was fine with it, why bother?
So we set off to build it as this K75. My friend had never built a model and we did it together in a pair of mornings, I enjoyed it and he did too I think!
The model was old but very nice to work on. It is more toy-like than other Tamiya kits I have built (all of these being aircraft, differences show).
The vinyl tire for the front wheel did not age well and was sticky...it broke during assembly. But some cyano, a lick of primer, and it seems that it will do... I don't know how it will age since I've read bad things about the long time behavior ouf the vinyl. We shall see.
