The details are nice! This kit is based on the original T-55 made by Tamiya, and that was a thing of beauty on itself too. I've done a review here: militaryscalemodelli..iran-5-tamiya-35328/

Lower hull part ready, next step the turret. Normally i don't do figures, but this time i am in doubt about that 🙂
16 September 2013, 14:32

Thanks Roy, What is your (objective) opinion on the review itself? I am a big IDF fan 🙂
16 September 2013, 14:55

I like it, simple and to the point. I know what you mean by the box seeming empty. I have the Pz. II, France, Tamiya and the Pz. II from Dragon. Both are nice kits but the Dragon kit has way more detail and parts. The Tamiya kit is great but lacks the detail of the Dragon kit. The Tamiya kit is way better than the old Tamiya Pz.II, DAK. Sorry to go so far of topic 😉
I look forward to your build. IDF and DAK are my favorite subjects.

No worries, i enjoy the input 😉
I prefer desert-vehicles of all kind. But IDF has my prefference.

Been working on the turret tonight. Had some work on the tube to make it nice and smooth. It's starting to look like a Tiran now. The figure probably wont be in the endresult.
16 September 2013, 21:29

That was fast. If you ask me I would use the figure. How cool is it that he has sunglasses and a beard.
16 September 2013, 22:56

Ready for paint. Added some fuellines. Added some stowage from an accessoire set. Picture just an indication.
17 September 2013, 21:04

Thanks Roy, next update will be everything in a dark basepaint. Then the IDF green/grey.
18 September 2013, 16:46

I love the paint job you have done. The weapons look fantastic along with the tracks (top one in picture)
20 September 2013, 20:28

this tiran is looking nice Heico, i think im going to have pick one up, cant wait to see it finished
20 September 2013, 22:13

Thanks Guys!
Roy, the top tracks was handled with the drybrush, the lower one wasn't at that point. This picture shows the differences wel.
William, I can absolutely reccomend it. It's fun to build, just few incorrect things ( if you're a rivet-counter 😉 )
21 September 2013, 07:35

Done with painting smaller parts etc. Drybrushed. Next up: Gloss-decals-gloss-weathering.
26 September 2013, 16:08

Thanks Roy, it's actually my first figure. But i am in doubt on putting it in there. Can't find of how the interior part round the hatch looks like.
26 September 2013, 19:48

Hello Heico
Will you use a pin wash??Looks like a great Kit.Great job with the guns.
29 September 2013, 03:53

Thanks guys! Markus, i will indeed be weathering this machine in a few different ways. The kit is really nice, just a few minor things i would had rather seen otherwise.
29 September 2013, 09:27

Decals on, most of the stowage etc on. Weathering is the next thing on the list!
30 September 2013, 21:18

Hi Heico, very good work so far! Waiting for the finished model 😄
30 September 2013, 21:42

Thanks guys, right now i am thinking of which colours to use exactly for the weathering.

Hell, thats looking cool! I love the UZI on the turret! You have a spot for those details!;)
1 October 2013, 09:10

Thanks Holger, the Uzi is in reach of the commander 🙂
1 October 2013, 10:17

Thanks Ray, hopefully this weekend some more progress!
3 October 2013, 17:25

Very nice detail and finish, that's another one to add to my wishlist!
16 November 2013, 12:55

Hello Heico, really really nice! Look forward to see it finished.
16 November 2013, 13:34

Thanks guys! Hopefully this year it will be finished!
16 November 2013, 17:38

Some progress. Chipping here and there, wire for the radio made out of stretched sprue, and wash in progress.
4 December 2013, 19:17

Washing done. Next up sagging the tracks, the wires for the .50 and antenna's. And finally some pigments.
10 December 2013, 18:02

Hi Heico,
looks good already! What colours did you use for the hull. To find the right colour(s) for Israeli tanks isn't that easy and you mastered it good as per my opinion.
I expected the Tamiya tracks to be a bit softer. How will you do the sagging? Using wire?
10 December 2013, 18:23

Hi Frank,
Thank you for the compliment. The colours i used for the hull are: 1 part XF- 20, 1 part XF- 57, 1 partl XF- 27 and 1 part XF- 49 All Tamiya. There are also some other combinations.
Lifecolor has some paints too, those are also fairly good.
On the latest update you can see in the background that i use superglue and some stuff to keep the track in place while it dries 🙂
Also on the latest update, the wire for the .50.
10 December 2013, 22:32

Pigments and antenna's on. How does it look? Does it need something more?
13 December 2013, 10:18

It looks amazing 🙂 which is what I have come to expect from you 😄 but a really beautiful work over all
13 December 2013, 11:45

Thank you Hunter. I am still in doubt if i will call this one 'done'. Posted some better pics now too.
