Thanks, folks! Funny you should mention that, Holger....way back on the back burner, I have been saving prescription pill bottles in various sizes with the aim of building a large kit from scratch...or at least get another one or two of these and add to it....think of the 80's hair band, metal drummers...you'll get the idea!

As you like building Cars, Bikes & Musical Instruments, maybe you should call yourself...
Mike the Mechanic🤔
Well done with the drum kit👍

It really does look great! Now all you need is a G.I. Joe doll with some drumsticks (cocktail tootkpicks?) in his hands!

Thanks folks! Actually, Dutch, if you look at the floor tom you will see drumsticks made from toothpicks already! Not sure about the G I Joe thing though.... and thanks for the video, Holger....Animal is the best!!

For being a drummer myself (I think i am), i love the animal, too!

In the front salon. Then you could take a pill and shrink yourself down to size to play! Hmm.. I seem to remember a song by Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit. "One pill makes you larger; And one pill makes you small; And the ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all! Go ask Alice when she's ten feet tall!"

Ha, i know that song from the movie "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas"!
And it is drug related, Steve😢

...
Yeah! unlike " Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds " everyone thought that was Drug related, because of the LSD reference in the title Lucy Sky Diamonds, sky also refering to being high. And all the wierd lyrics tangerine trees marmalade skies, plasticine porters. Turned out eventually, nothing to do with drugs...
Yeah! and Pigs fly...

Warum bist du traurig, Dutch?........and on this drug/music/Jefferson Airplane thing......I love Grace Slick's quote..."If you remember the 60's...you weren't there!" ....I was only 5 when White Rabbit was released so I do remember the 60's....lol

And Steve...it doesn't stop at cars, bikes and musical instruments....I've built planes, figures, trucks, rockets....basically, if it's plastic and comes in a box of a hundred or so pieces, I'll give it a go!!

I knew that, BUT...
It's not that I was hinting at Mike, it was a pun on Mike and the Mechanics, the pop group...
Just my sick sense of humour I'm affraid, it's not everybody's cup of tea...
Just tell me to belt up if you don't like it😢
23 July 2014, 15:38

Haha!....no fears mate....I have a pretty warped sense of humor myself...I always see the humour in situations...got myself in trouble more times than I care to mention....and as a side note...I work in the auto repair business...with 2 other guys in our shop named Mike...so there are more than enough Mike and the Mechanics puns floating around there!😉

I remember when it first came out - went well with Iron Butterfly Ina-Gadda-da-Vida. I blame the fumes from the Testors glue - ya that was it... Buying all them kits for $0.50 or 0$.99 - done in a day. uh what were we talking about??? - Alice in Wonderland '60's style - that was it😎

Album info
Being a drummer (well, in my mind, anyway!) I flipped when I saw this kit and had to buy it. Went together well and looks pretty neat....might do another one someday.....
